The program started in 2014 and since then it has reached a large number of Arete Youth Foundation beneficiaries. It supports young people with high potential from Roma community with live online English classes with native speakers.
Impact
Young Roma people lack sustainable social networks and opportunities to travel abroad in order to expand their cultural awareness, social, communicational and civic competences. The program addresses these social and economic barriers that keep them from achieving educational, career and personal success. The experience shows that communication with a native speaker helps the young people learn more about the English-speaking countries culture and traditions. This enhances their confidence for interaction with people from other countries.
